Are you 16 or older and looking for a volunteer opportunity? Do you want to inspire a young person’s love for reading?  Consider becoming a Philly Reading Coach (PRC)!  

Philly Reading Coaches is an early literacy program from the Office of Children and Families that combines early reading support, access to books, and community volunteers to boost the reading skills of our city’s children.   

The program pairs trained volunteers with K-3rd grade students for one-on-one after-school reading sessions in selected Out-of-School Time programs across the city. PRC offers child-guided reading sessions to improve reading skills, boost confidence, and inspire young learners to love reading.  

PRC is seeking volunteers to give one hour or more a week to a student reading partner who needs help. No experience is necessary!
