Every year, Christmas Village transforms LOVE Park into a traditional, open-air German Christmas Market. Vendors will set up shop during the Holiday season to sell a wide variety of holiday gifts, ornaments, jewelry and high-quality arts and crafts.

Great news! The City of Philadelphia launches third year cycle for the Christmas Village Market Grant, a fund to increase opportunities for local BIPOC vendors and emerging businesses. We look forward to helping vendors sell a variety of gift items at Christmas Village.

The Christmas Village Market Grant is administered by the Department of Commerce, which contributes to the City’s equitable business growth initiatives.

Nonprofit organizations can apply now

The Christmas Village Market Grant application is open to non-profit organizations.

The application deadline is September 8, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.

The selected organizations will be responsible for: 

  • Identifying and working with Philadelphia BIPOC vendors and microbusinesses.
  • Helping to set up vending space and covering the upfront costs.
  • Navigating weekly inventory and managing the Christmas Village booths.
  • Assisting with merchandising, staffing, grant management, language access, technical assistance, schedule rotation, and more.

In its third year, the program shines a spotlight on Philadelphia’s diverse entrepreneurs who will be setting up shop within dynamic storefronts at LOVE Park, one of the city’s most popular public spaces managed by Philadelphia Parks and Recreation. The Department of Commerce and Philadelphia Parks and Recreation are dedicated to promoting Philly-based businesses and BIPOC participation while increasing access to opportunities. This type of local assistance allows BIPOC vendors to be even more prepared for thousands of successful holiday shopping interactions.

Christmas Village is opening soon

Christmas Village will be open November 18 –December 24.

These vendors, recruited by each organization, will be offering crafts globally inspired and locally made at Christmas Village this year until December 24, 2022. They would rotate on a weekly basis in wooden huts within LOVE Park. Stay tuned for more info!
