Providing services to over 75,000 patients annually

The Health Department manages eight Federally Qualified Health Centers and multiple programs within the Ambulatory Health Services (AHS) Division. The role of the Health Center Director is critical to maintaining the operations within the Health Center and ensuring that all the disciplines and programs have the resources needed to provide primary care health services to over 75,000 patients per year.

In addition, the Health Center Director takes the lead when managing unanticipated emergencies such as loss of internet connectivity, power outages and building emergencies. The Director works with their Health Center management team to ensure any new programs or changes are successfully adapted and integrated into Health Center operations.

Program Administrators manage programs within AHS including HIV Services, Womens’ Health Services, Radiology Services, Dental Services and Benefits Counselors Programs. Oversight of these programs include grants management, program policies and procedures, and maintaining resources and equipment for each program. These program managers work directly with the Medical Directors to ensure their respective programs are fully integrated into the AHS service delivery model.
