Philadelphia Department of Public Health resource hubs are a program within the Division of Disease Control.  At five locations across the city, trained staff are available to provide safe sleep education and distribute a new Pack n’ Play crib for new and/or expecting parents.

What are the requirements to receive a Pack n’ Play?

• Must be a Philadelphia resident with a child under 10 months of age or expecting within 30-60 days.
  • If the child is under 10 months of age, the child must also weigh under 30 lbs.
• Cannot have received a Pack n’ Play within the last year from a Health Department affiliate.

What information will I need to provide? How long does the process take?

Visitors will be required to provide various pieces of information, including address, date of birth (for both child and parent), and contact information.  If visitors are unable or unwilling to provide this information, staff can help individuals locate other locations offering a similar service.

Recipients of Pack n’ Play cribs at a resource hub will also be required to watch a 4-5 minute crib setup and demonstrate knowledge of safe crib assembly and the ABCs of safe sleep. Once knowledge is demonstrated, recipients are required to sign a waiver confirming their understanding of the information.

Note: Due to limited supply, you may be asked to return on a separate date to pick up a Pack n’ Play based on your child’s age or due date. Recipients may be asked to verify proof of pregnancy and/or verify their child’s date of birth.
