As we have learned over the last few years, public health has an effect on nearly every part of our lives. From the air we breathe, to food and water we consume, to the healthcare we receive, from prenatal check-ups to post-mortem investigations, the Health Department is there.
We may be biased, but we believe that public health workers in Philadelphia are among the most dedicated, passionate people in the entire city. While this blog series is focused on the work of the Health Department, we are just a small fragment of the total number of people who work day-in and day-out to protect and improve your health. This week is about each of them as much as the Health Department.
During the week of April 3 – 7, we will be celebrating the critical work that goes on in the Health Department by highlighting a division every single day. Each day, this blog post will be updated with a link to a new blog post that will teach you about what we do. We’re as excited to let you know about all of the wonderful work going on in the Health Department as we are excited to celebrate our amazing staff. Check back every day around noon to see our latest.
