PHILADELPHIA – Today, Mayor Jim Kenney and City of Philadelphia Commerce Director joined GLG, the world’s insight network, to celebrate the opening of GLG’s new, renovated Philadelphia office in the historic Bourse at Independence Mall. The space will support GLG’s growing Philadelphia team of nearly 125 professionals across the company’s private equity, public markets, corporate, professional services firms, and growth business units, as well as operational and corporate functions. GLG has offices in 13 countries around the world, including U.S. hubs in Philadelphia, New York, and Austin. The Philadelphia office will grow to support as many as 300 professionals over the next three years. “We first established GLG Philadelphia in early 2022 to be close to our clients, meet growing demand, and access top talent – and the office has had a remarkable impact over the year since,” said GLG CEO Paul Todd. “We’re excited to open this new space and continue investing in our Philadelphia team, which has quickly become a vital part of our regional and global strategy.” “Philadelphia is proud to join GLG’s global network of office locations, and we welcome them to the same historic neighborhood that put our city on the world’s map,” said Mayor Jim Kenney. “Philadelphia is a great region for expanding businesses to find new opportunities and talent. We’re thrilled that GLG has joined a growing community of companies building their future here.” The Bourse was a stock exchange when it was built just before the turn of the 20th century, and today houses dozens of artisanal food vendors, a movie theater, and modern office suites in its 10 stories. It is two blocks away from Independence Hall and one block from the Market-Frankford metro line. Cindy Floyd and Ranger Mack – who serve as General Managers in GLG’s public markets and private equity business units, respectively – lead the Philadelphia office, along with long-tenured GLGer Nam Nguyen, Head of Americas Private Equity Business Development. “Philadelphia has strengthened our ability to meet increasing demand and improve client service both in the city and across the U.S.,” said Head of GLG Americas Andrew Somosi. “I’m proud of the GLGers who have led the way in establishing and growing this office, many of whom moved from across the country to build a new GLG community in one of America’s most exciting cities.” “We are immensely grateful for GLG choosing to stay and grow in our great city. This partnership effort is a vital reminder that Philadelphia is a dynamic destination ready to welcome people and companies of all sizes. Networks of economic opportunities are growing here every day,” said Anne Nadol, Commerce Director. “The Department of Commerce will continue to serve as a resource for GLG and companies alike through incentive programs, workforce development partnerships and talent recruitment. We look forward to the continued growth of GLG’s social and economic impacts in Philadelphia. “
