The Records Department is on a mission to make sure your property remains deeded to you!
As we kick off our first city-wide marketing campaign about deed fraud, individuals and families will have an opportunity to sign up for our free email alert service, Fraud Guard, at neighborhood block parties and community events.
Fraud Guard service has been available to Philadelphia property owners for free for over a year. However, not many people use the service or understand how it can protect the transfer of generational wealth. So, here’s how it works:
1. You can sign up on the Fraud Guard website or by connecting with us at a community event. You just need to provide your name and email. We’ll be at two community events in September! Stay tuned for our fall/winter schedule!
-
September 17, 2022, 10am-4pm, Unity Day, 5500 N Broad St
-
September 26, 2022, 6pm-8pm, 35th Police District Town Hall, 2201 W Hunting Park Ave
2. If someone tries to commit fraud on your property by recording an unauthorized transaction, such as a new mortgage or transferring the title out of your name, you’ll receive an email alert.
If you believe fraud has been committed on your property, contact our office at (215) 686-2290 or send an email to records.info@phila.gov. We’re here to help our most vulnerable communities protect their properties!
