Each summer, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation hosts a variety of low-cost day camp options. We divide our camps into two types:
- Summer day camps: keep children ages 6 to 12 active with arts & crafts, sports, educational activities, games, field trips, and more.
- Theme camps: a diverse lineup of camps for children and teens with a specific focus, ranging from nature and sports to performing and visual arts.

Summer theme camps

Art camp
- Location: Multiple options, see below.
- Ages: 7 to 13
- Runs: July 5 -August 12, 2022. Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
- Cost: $300 for six weeks. Transportation not included.
In this six week program, campers will create art using pencils, paint, ceramics, and more. The camp is divided into two, three-week sessions. Each session finishes with an art show featuring the campers’ work. To register you must complete the application and payment form by June 24. Introduction to the Performing Arts Camp
- Location: Multiple options, see links below.
- Ages: 6 to 10
- Runs: July 5 -August 12, 2022. Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
- Cost: $300 for six weeks. Aftercare will be available till 5pm for an additional $35 per week or $175 for six weeks. Transportation not included.
If you want to get your child involved in singing, dancing, and drama, look no further than this performing arts camp. Participants learn about these art forms, and engage with each other to create a final performance at the Dell Music Center. Check availability and register for this camp.
Four sites will host the 2022 Intro to Performing Arts Camp:
- 48th & Woodland Playground in Southwest Philadelphia
- Holmesburg Recreation Center at Rhawn & Ditman Streets in Northeast Philadelphia
- Waterview Recreation Center at 5826 McMahon Street in Germantown
- Hawthorne Cultural Center at 1201 Carpenter Street in South Philadelphia
Out-n-about camp
- Ages: 11 to 14
Runs: August 1 – 5, 2022. Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.Sorry, this camp is full. Registration is closed.- Cost: $300 for six weeks. Lunch and transportation not included.
- Location: Wissahickon Environmental Education Center – 300 W Northwestern Ave., 19118.
An adventure-filled theme camp for older youth. Campers bike, canoe, and rock-climb. The fun doesn’t end there! Take part in a scavenger hunt downtown. Build a raft. Or tube on the river.The adventures vary each year. There’s also an overnight camp-out. Transportation to activities is included.
Rowing camp
- Location: Lloyd Hall, 1 Boathouse Row, 19130.
- Ages: 13 to 17
- Runs: July 5 -August 12, 2022. Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
- Cost: $25 for two-week sessions. Lunch and transportation not included.
Philadelphia teenagers are encouraged to get active and learn how to row this summer. Join us for any of the three, two week sessions throughout the summer. To register call (215) 685-3936.
SkateBoard Academy’s Front Street Sk8 Camp
- Location: Ralph Rizzo, Sr. Ice Rink, 1101 S. Front St., 19147.
- Ages: 5 to 12
- Runs: Session 1 – June 20 to 24. Session 2- June 27 to July 1. Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
- Cost: $150 per session. Lunch and transportation not included.
Beginner and intermediate level skaters are invited to join in and learn how to improve their skills. Each week, campers will receive instruction in four different areas of skateboarding. SkateBoard Academy is working with Parks & Rec to provide this great summer camp opportunity in a great location at Rizzo Rinks. Register for this camp at the SkateBoard Academy’s website.
Sports camps
