The best weapons we have against COVID-19 are vaccines.
As Philadelphia continues to receive more vaccine allotment from the federal government, grow our vaccine distribution network, and expand vaccine eligibility to more and more residents, we want to make sure everyone who is eligible to get the vaccine feels comfortable getting one.
According to a recent national survey, nearly 70 percent of Americans say that they would likely get vaccinated; however, that survey showed that only 61 percent of African Americans would likely get vaccinated. We want to change this.
The top three reasons people might not want to get the vaccine were:
- Concern over side effects.
- Concern that the vaccines were developed too quickly.
- A desire to learn more about how well the vaccines work.
These are valid concerns, but we do have answers for them!
Over the next few months, we’ll share videos, blogs, social media messages, and more to help Philadelphians learn more about the vaccine and why they should get one.
Let’s Vax Up!
It’s been over a year since this pandemic changed our lives. It’s time to get back to doing some of the things we love, and enjoy the many things that make Philadelphia the vibrant and unique city that it is.
What are you waiting for? If you haven’t already, make sure to register your interest in receiving the vaccine today!
Let’s plan to vax up, Philly, so we can get back to some of the things we love like:
- Grabbing a bite together at our favorite local spot.
- Celebrating birthdays, weddings, big wins, and more.
- Cheering on our favorite sports teams together.
- Dancing at our favorite concert venues, and more!
