About Access Centers
The City’s 70+ Access Centers provide supervision, food, and a wireless connection on weekdays, so that registered students (grades K-8) can participate in the digital learning provided by their school.
Access Centers prioritize enrollment for students whose caregivers work outside of the home and cannot provide supervision during the school day.
Following guidance from the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, Access Centers adhere to strict health and safety protocols. Access Centers require social distancing, PPE for staff and students, and daily temperature and symptom checks among other precautions. Participants are organized into cohorts to control the risk of exposure between student groupings, and registration is restricted to ensure that social distancing is possible inside the centers.
Access Centers are now closed. The last day of operations was June 11, 2021. If you would like to find a program for your child or teenager, please visit phila.gov/PlayItSafePHL.
