The City of Philadelphia Law Department is proud to have participated in the Diversity Lab’s inaugural Mansfield Rule Law Department Edition (MRLD). As part of our ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion the Department will continue participation in the 2020-2021 MRLD 2.0.
The MRLD mission is to diversify legal department leadership. The program measures whether legal departments are considering a candidate pool of at least 50% racial/ethnic minority lawyers, lawyers with disabilities, women, and LGBTQ+ lawyers when hiring. The 50 percent metric allows for a more intentional approach to hiring and retention efforts.
The Law Department’s participation in the MRLD also includes access to data and knowledge-sharing. Through MRLD, the Law Department is provided with diversity best practice resources from around the country. The Law Department is thrilled to continue working with Diversity Lab in fostering an inclusive workforce.
