PHILADELPHIA – All City of Philadelphia offices will be closed and City services curtailed on January 1, in recognition of New Years Day.
Trash and recyclables will not be collected on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Residents who have collection on Wednesday should set out their trash and recycling for collection on Thursday evening after 5:00 p.m. for collection. Trash and recycling collections will be one day behind schedule for the remainder of the week.
All City District Health Centers are closed on New Years Day, as are the district offices of the Department of Licenses and Inspections (L&I); the L&I License and Permit Center at the Municipal Services Building; the Marriage License Bureau; all Philadelphia Parks and Recreation facilities; the Free Library of Philadelphia and all of its branches; and the executive offices of the Philadelphia Parking Authority, as well as its Violations Branch at 9th and Filbert streets. The Philadelphia Parking Authority also will not be enforcing meters, kiosks, or residential parking time limits on New Years Day.
All Philadelphia Department of Prisons facilities will be open to visitors on New Years Day. Executive offices will be closed.
City offices will reopen on Thursday, January 2, 2020.
