Over the summer, many Parks & Rec spaces transform into outdoor and indoor yoga studios. Swap out your solo flow at home for the river views at Schuylkill Banks or the fresh air in your local neighborhood park! With a variety of dates and locations offered, there’s plenty of opportunities to say “om” this summer.

Please note:

  • Most classes listed are BYO-mat and welcome all levels of yoga experience.
  • All classes are weather-permitting, so check each site’s page before heading out!
  • Classes are free unless otherwise specified.
  • In the event of rain, Roots2Rise yoga classes will be cancelled and not rescheduled. Roots2Rise announces cancellations a minimum of two hour in advance on their Facebook and Instagram pages.

Dickinson Square: Morning Yoga 

Where: Dickinson Square Park (1600 E. Moyamensing Ave., 19148)
When: Sundays June 16-August 29, 9 a.m.-10 a.m.

Palumbo Park: Evening Yoga 

Where: Palumbo Park (723 Catharine St., 19147)
When: Tuesdays June 18-July 30, 6:15 p.m.-7:15 p.m.

Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk: Yoga on the Banks

Where: Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk (grassy area near 25th and Locust St., 19103)
When: Saturdays at 10 a.m., Sundays at 10 a.m., and Thursdays at 7 p.m.

Roots2Rise Yoga offers regular community yoga classes at parks, playgrounds, and recreation centers across the city. All levels are welcome! The weekly options include:

Swim Philly Yoga

Roots2Rise has teamed up with Swim Philly to offer free classes at these Parks & Rec pools:

Yoga at Parks on Tap

Roots2Rise will also offer community yoga classes at the popular Parks on Tap traveling beer garden. Classes take place every Thursday from 6-7 p.m. The location changes each week. Check the Parks on Tap schedule to find the site of the next class.
