The Fund for Philadelphia, in partnership with the Office of Sustainability and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, is seeking consultant services to create the first ever comprehensive Urban Agriculture Plan for Philadelphia. The Request for Proposals (RFP) is now available online.

Overview

The Urban Agriculture Plan will achieve the following:

  • Outline the current state of agriculture in Philadelphia;
  • Review and offer strategies for sustaining existing efforts;
  • Guide the City on how to improve and create new pathways for the maintenance and expansion of urban agriculture in Philadelphia; and
  • Provide recommendations to the City and partners on how to best coordinate and strengthen their work on urban agriculture.

Funding for the plan is provided by the William Penn Foundation.

RFP Support

The City believes that no one consulting firm will be able to deliver the deep community engagement work as well as strategic planning and data analysis. So, the City encourages potential respondents to form diverse teams to meet these complex needs. The City will only issue one contract and will expect firms to form teams prior to responding to the RFP.

The City is hosting Q&A sessions where respondents can ask questions and meet their potential teammates:

  • Session 1: March 14, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM
  • Session 2: April 2, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM
  • Session 3: April 9, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM

All sessions will take place at the One Parkway Building (1515 Arch St. 18th floor, 18-029 Room). Respondents are strongly encouraged to attend at least one of the sessions. The building is ADA accessible and all guests must provide photo ID to enter the building.
