The Department of Revenue collects taxes for the School District of Philadelphia and the City. But we’re also in charge of collecting local water and sewer charges. So we get a lot of questions about water bills and water meters.

Gary Gehringer is an engineer for the Philadelphia Water Department. Among other ongoing projects, he helps address metering concerns. He told us what any Philadelphian should know about the water meter in their home.
