As part of Vision Zero—the City’s pledge to reduce traffic deaths to zero by 2030—Philadelphia is committed to developing quality safe transportation curriculum for all Philadelphia children. Young people have an important role to play in Vision Zero, and deserve to be able to get to school, go to the playground, or walk to a friend’s house without fear of traffic.

Safe Routes Philly (SRP) is Philadelphia’s youth bicycle and pedestrian safety education program. SRP provides:

Transportation safety education: Pedestrian, bicycle, and traffic safety lessons for educators
Educator training: Specialized training on implementing bicycle and pedestrian safety education
Program support: Individualized school support for traffic safety education programs
Resources for communities: Materials to support traffic safety education outside of the classroom

Safe Routes Philly is managed by the Office of Transportation, Infrastructure, and Sustainability in the Managing Director’s Office. All resources are free and available for use by all schools and communities.
