Parks & Rec Summer Youth Employment Program

Creating an employment pipeline to prepare youth and young adults for public sector careers.

What we do

Each summer Parks & Rec hires youth and young adults to work at our sites. These positions are for those 14 to 24 years old. Those hired:

  • Assist at Parks & Rec sites across the city.
  • Build their communication and leadership skills.
  • Interact with both younger children and adult staff.
The positions include work at recreation centers. playgrounds, Playstreets, or special initiatives.
