Overview
You must submit an asbestos abatement and demolition/renovation notification form at least 24 hours prior to performing encapsulation or removal of less than 40 linear or 80 square feet of asbestos.
You must apply for and receive an asbestos abatement permit before you begin encapsulation or removal of greater than or equal to 40 linear or 80 square feet of asbestos. You must be a licensed asbestos abatement contractor to receive this permit. You will also need to hire an independent certified Asbestos Project Inspector (API).

Cost
For major projects, the permit fee is determined by the cost of the abatement. A $45 filing fee also applies. The minimum permit fee is $150.
For smaller projects, a $45 filing fee may apply.
