Connecting youth ages 12–24 with paid work-based learning experiences to set them up for career and economic success.

Career Connected Learning PHL (C2L-PHL) gives Philadelphia youth ages 12–24 work-based learning experiences and career awareness. Program activities include:

  • Internships.
  • Service learning projects.
  • Career exploration and mentoring.
  • Professional development.
  • Job shadowing.

C2L-PHL is Philadelphia's version of Career Connected Learning. This proven model helps youth develop the knowledge, skills, and mindset they need to enter the workforce, careers, and community life. Our citywide collaboration focuses on three goals for youth:

  • Explore different career paths and fields.
  • Work on the skills needed to achieve their career goals.
  • Uncover their strengths and passions to inform career decisions.

The Office of Children and Families, Philadelphia Works, and the School District of Philadelphia lead the program.

The application process for C2L-PHL Summer 2024 is now closed. If you have already completed an application, you will receive correspondence soon about next steps.

Process and eligibility

Philadelphia residents ages 12–24 can apply for paid:

  • Service learning programs.
  • Project-based learning programs.
  • Internships.

You can only apply for one program per application cycle. Priority is given to in-school youth.

All participants will have the opportunity to earn a stipend for participation. Learn more about how youth get paid.
